Classes at Hestia

Come and make something beautiful.

Spend a little time on the other side of the Hestia counter.

Hestia classes are relaxed, hands-on days spent learning the techniques behind modern pâtisserie - making, tasting and taking home something rather lovely at the end of it all.

Roll up your sleeves.

You don't need to be an experienced baker to come to a Hestia class. Curiosity, an appetite and a willingness to get a little flour on yourself are quite enough.

Classes are taught by Rebecca in small groups at carefully chosen venues around Norfolk, with plenty of time to work through each stage, ask questions and understand not just what you're doing, but why.

Depending on the class, you might learn to make and line pastry, build layers of mousse, sponge and fruit confit, work with ganache and crémeux, glaze an entremet or put the finishing touches to your own pâtisserie.

Everything you'll need is provided, and you'll leave with the recipes you've used, the things you've made and - hopefully - a few new tricks in your repetoire.

What’s coming up?

New Hestia classes are added throughout the year. Here’s what’s currently in the diary.

Hestia Patisserie Pastry Class

Patisserie Class

Pear Crumble Entremets & Persian Love Cakes

Join me for a relaxed, hands-on day of modern pâtisserie at Hunter's Academy of Food.

Together we'll make individual Pear Crumble Entremets, working through the techniques involved in building, finishing and decorating a multi-component pâtisserie, alongside one of Hestia's best-loved bakes, Persian Love Cakes, fragrant with citrus, spice and pistachio.

We'll work through each stage together, with plenty of time to ask questions and understand not just what you're doing, but why. No previous pâtisserie experience is needed - all ingredients and equipment are provided.

You'll leave with:

  • 8 individual Pear Crumble Entremets

  • 12 Persian Love Cakes

  • All the recipes used during the class

Lunch is provided by Hunter's during the day. Please let them know about any dietary requirements or food allergies when booking.

Learn. Make. Eat.

A Hestia class isn't about watching someone else make something beautiful and going home with a recipe.

You'll make it yourself.

We'll work through the techniques together, troubleshoot the inevitable wobbly moments and talk about the little details that make the difference. There'll be time to ask questions, have something good to eat and enjoy being around other people who quite like talking about cake.

Most importantly, nobody is expected to arrive knowing everything.

Come as you are. We'll take it from there.
