A little bit of Hestia history.
The cake that has been with Hestia almost from the beginning.
Gently spiced with cardamom and nutmeg, fragrant with lemon and rose, and finished with pistachios and petals, Hestia's Persian Love Cakes have become one of the most recognisable things I make.
Available as individual cakes for gatherings and dessert tables, or as a whole cake made for slicing and sharing.
More than a pretty cake.
A Persian Love Cake has a texture all of its own.
It begins with a rich, crumbly base of buckwheat, almond, butter and demerara sugar. The same mixture forms the foundation of the sponge above, enriched with Greek yoghurt and eggs and gently spiced with cardamom and nutmeg.
The result is slightly denser and more textured than a traditional sponge, with nuttiness and warmth balanced by fragrant lemon and rose.
Each cake is finished with lemon and rose icing, toasted pistachios and dried petals.
Floral, gently spiced, nutty and just sharp enough.

A Hestia signature.
Persian Love Cakes have a look that's become distinctly Hestia - pale lemon and rose icing, scattered with toasted pistachios and dried petals.
The finish stays intentionally recognisable, but if you're ordering for a particular celebration, the dried flowers and petals can sometimes be adapted to complement your occasion.
Alternative floral finishes are available for an additional charge and can be discussed when you enquire.
